Having spent more than two decades representing the interests of Connecticut businesses before policymakers as well as working directly for the General Assembly early in his career, Eric is well known throughout state government as an effective and experienced leader and advocate. Before joining the IAC, Eric served as the Principal of the Eric George Group, LLC where he provided a wide array of legislative, regulatory and executive lobbying and consulting services to a number of high profile business clients. He also served as chief lobbyist for healthcare related matters and in-house counsel for Connecticut’s largest and most renowned statewide business and industry association. Eric was also an attorney with one of the top law firms in Connecticut, where he practiced in the areas of corporate law, mergers and acquisitions, and municipal finance. As a part of Eric’s involvement with his community, he led one of Hartford’s most renowned and historic membership organizations; has served as an active volunteer with the March of Dimes; has served as a fundraising chair of Camp Courant (which operates a free day camp for underprivileged young people); has served as a member of the Connecticut Judicial Selection Commission; has served as a member of the Connecticut Criminal Justice Commission; and has served as a member of the Glastonbury Board of Education. Eric received both his law and undergraduate degrees from The University of Connecticut.

Brooke Foley

A veteran of the United States Air Force, Brooke served as an Assistant Staff Judge Advocate in Okinawa, Japan and at bases in North Carolina and Nevada. She later worked as a prosecutor for the Office of the Attorney General for the State of Nevada before moving to Connecticut. Brooke previously worked as an attorney in the Legislative Commissioners’ Office for the Connecticut General Assembly during the 2019 and 2021 legislative sessions. She received her BA in Journalism from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, and her JD from the University of Maryland School of Law in Baltimore.

Paula Toussaint

Communications Director

A key staff member and collaborator with an extensive insurance industry background, Paula focuses on support for IAC’s lobbying efforts, public hearings, committee meetings, session days, and legislative tracking and reporting as well as all media monitoring, online and social content and analysis, and the company’s newsletter. She is also responsible for operations management. Paula joined the IAC after working for over a decade at one of the largest insurance carriers in Connecticut supporting the company’s internal and digital communications strategies. Paula also worked in an HR IT role managing corporate policies, procedures, and knowledge article digital content for employees. Early in her career she worked in human resources providing an array of services to the workforce including HR laws, policies and procedures, regulatory compliance, employee insurances and workers’ compensation claims.

Nicole Griffin

A partner at Powers, Griffin & Hill – one of the premiere lobbying firms in Connecticut – Nicole is engaged by the IAC as a Contract Lobbyist. As a former Deputy Legislative Director to the Office of the Governor of Connecticut and longtime lobbyist in private practice, Nicole has extensive contacts and relationships throughout both the legislative and executive branch. Her relationships with these key public officials are longstanding – based on friendships and trust that have developed over many years. Nicole frequently leverages her relationships with key legislators and others who work at the Capitol and in the executive branch on behalf of the IAC and its members.

Kevin Hill

A partner at Powers, Griffin & Hill – one of the premiere lobbying firms in Connecticut – Kevin is engaged by the IAC as a Contract Lobbyist. Kevin is a public policy professional who utilizes his knowledge of the state’s legislative process to aid the IAC. Kevin previously served as the Field Director for U.S. Senator Murphy, where he managed a staff of organizers throughout Connecticut’s fifth congressional district. Kevin developed and maintained extensive contacts at the local, state and federal level as he coordinated the campaign’s efforts with local Democratic Town Committees, the State Democratic Party and the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee.

A member of the Powers, Griffin & Hill team, CJ is a governmental affairs associate with a vast knowledge of State Government. He is responsible for the tracking and monitoring of legislative and administrative issues for clients, researching and preparing analyses of public policy matters as well as the most up-to-date national and local media monitoring.
